Learn how endometriosis affects fertility, its symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options including IVF. Expert guidance for patients trying to conceive.

If you’re on a fertility journey, you may have heard about the connection between thyroid health and pregnancy. It’s true: the thyroid gland plays a key role in reproductive health. But recent research has updated our understanding of how much thyroid issues actually impact fertility and early pregnancy.
At JIVA Fertility, we believe in separating myths from facts so you can make informed, confident decisions without unnecessary worry or treatment.
However, not all thyroid imbalances are harmful.
Many women with slightly raised TSH and normal thyroid hormone levels conceive naturally and have healthy pregnancies without medication.
Large cohort studies show that women with TSH levels on the higher end of the normal range (for example, 2.5 to 4.0 mIU/L) have similar chances of conceiving as those with lower TSH.
This means that a TSH slightly above 2.5 does not necessarily indicate a fertility problem.
Findings from UK fertility clinics show:
In the past, many women were prescribed thyroid medication for any TSH elevation. But new, high-quality evidence shows:
If your FT4 is normal and you feel well, a TSH slightly above 2.5 is not usually concerning.
Current guidelines support using a higher upper limit (close to 4.0 mIU/L) rather than treating all cases above 2.5.

At JIVA, we combine compassion with science:
Thyroid health does matter. But mild abnormalities, especially a TSH between 2.5 and 4.0, do not automatically require treatment unless there is known hypothyroidism or other risk factors.
Many women with borderline thyroid results or antibodies conceive naturally or with standard fertility support.
Understanding your results can bring peace of mind.
At JIVA Fertility Clinic, we’re here to guide you with clarity, evidence, and care.
